Hi  i just booted my pc to find that my hdd wasnt being picked up and it was spinning slowly i just regestered my hdd today on the wd website and i submitted a ticket (or whatever they call it over there) and obviouly the havent gotten back to me and im too impatient my question is can i rma the hdd even tho it was regestered after it was broken it says my warranty ends November 15, 2016 also if i can can i rma it for free, thanks guys

If the warranty ends in November if this year then it is still valid, I'd RMA it, drives should just work so obviously something isn't going to plan.

 

Was the PC knocked or dropped or anything before this happened?

Yes, as long as you're still covered by warranty it doesn't matter when you registered it.

 

I usually only register products if something goes awry and I have to RMA it.

Yes as long as your warranty is still valid it'll cover it, let's just hope the guys at WD don't read this post and find out you registered it after it was broken :P;)

No it wasnt its being sat in the one place dor ages with the side panel off so i can see the sexyness lol i have had the drive for a few years so it might have just died of old age

WD's warranty services have always been easy for me. Register the drive, fill out a RMA claim, send the drive and get another back. However, I've almost always received a refurbished drive. Also, back up your data before sending because they won
't copy your data over.
