Help build PC 1000 bucks

J03Y

Hi !

I've selected some components for my build, this PC is going to be mainly used for video editing and gaming ( I am not going to overclock).

I'm not sure if my components are suitable for this type of build, I would appreciate it if s/o could help me with it.

My main issues are on the motherboard and the psu. What would you change ? Do i need to spend 10 extra bucks on getting a modular psu ?

 Thank you!

It may still be worth it to get a K cpu if you won't overclock as they also have higher stock frequencies.

Modular PSUs are mainly for your own building comfort and looks, if you don't care there aren't really any disadvantages (if the rest of the PSU is just as good).

Depending on the price you may want to get a R9 390 instead of a 970, they tend to be faster for around the same price. They are also significantly better at rendering if the program you use supports opencl.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Hi !

What budget, what country, what's your display set up, how important is gaming vs video editing?

in any case you'd want a Xeon 1231v3 for the CPU

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
