I don't think you will need an SSD for a server as they stay on 24/7.

I'm just using it as a boot drive that way the hard drives won't be spinning 24/7 and I will be able to get more life out of them. It would just be waiting for them to spin up

I would recommend getting rid of the SSD and getting WD Reds or some type of NAS drive.

The only thing that strikes me is that a 2TB server isn't a lot...

Yea but this is just a start off. Of course I would add more storage when I get the money

And yes I've considered wd reds but for my needs I just don't need them right now

Another thing is RAM :P And it might be advisable to buy that sooner rather than later if the live stream-speculations are to be considered

(and are you sure that case has a 92mm fan mounting?)

I have 8gb of ddr3 ram sitting right beside me unused and yes check the case specs

You have $50 to spend on whatever you want also. Probably a PSU.

EDIT: Remove the RAM, almost $100 left over.

The reason why I went for 2 green drives is since there a little slower I wanted to put it in raid 0 for a little more speed over my network

Add another one of those drives, you have the money left over. For a media server I would highly recommend drives rated for 24/7 use.

Yea ik. But think about it. The ssd is running 24/7 as the boot drives then the green drives go to sleep after 30mins of no use and they spin up when I'm trying to access them. No reason currently for me to get nas drives. But yea yea ik. There better. I'm just trying to use the least amount of money for the time being. Oh and btw I also have a extra 500wat psu thats not being used

Ah. I wouldn't have guessed it had those mountings :P

Yea ikr. I wish it was a 120mm mount because I also have a 120mm fan that came out of my gaming pc case lying around. I took it out because it didn't push enough air and bought a better one.
