Ok so a friend of mine built a new pc and he is getting some artifacts at 4k

Specs:

5930k

MSI x99 SLI Plus

EVGA 980Ti classified

32GB RAM

1000w PSU

I ran some benchmarks for him Valley at 1080p didnt show any artifacts, but when we ran it at 4k there was artifacts and he has some artifacts in skyrim aswell

Anyone got some ideas on why its causing this?

Thanks

If it's at stock it's either your GPU or Power Supply. CPU/MoBo can cause it as well but those get RMA'ed a lot less. Check the GPUs in another system.

Current PC: Origin Millennium- i7 5820K @4.0GHz | GTX 980Ti SLI | X99 Deluxe

post a pic of said artifacting

what ca cause artifacting, most likely a defective video card or a overheating one
especially when it's not limited to a single game

is you friend running OC (on any component)? if so, return to factory defaults and re-run the benchmarks

can you get hold of a new SLI bridge?

I would definitely find a new bridge. I had the same problem with my 550Ti SLI back in the day and had artifacting with and without an overclock. Swapped off the bridge for a new one and all was fixed.
