My friend Nick is building a new CAD workstation with a 6700k and he needs help on a GPU. He is a GeForce fan boy but only likesthe Fire pro's from AMD/ATI if he uses AMD.. He has $450 to spend. Which should he get?

GTX 980. Pretty overkill for CAD.

arent there workstation cards for cad? saw some quadros for about 140dollar if ne just needs it for cad he can consider it although i have no clue how much power you need there are quadros for multiple thousand dollars as i read main reason is for errorless cad
