I am sure this has been talked about before. I am new to forums so forgive my ignorance.

With so many AIO options is it still worth doing a custom loop? With adapters like the corsair GH N980 you can use AIO on graphic cards easily (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-hg10-n980-gpu-liquid-cooling-bracket) What is the draw back of using  H100i GTX for your cpu and gpus besides customization and placement? Is the advantage full waterblocks give that much better?

custom loop is for aesthetics or for fun DIY

if you plan to spend $600+ on a custom loop to get a bit lower temperatures and a few more fps from overclocking then thats a waste of money

Custom loop makes sense if you have a lot of high end hardware (multi gpu setup dont work as well on air) or if you want silence with high end hardware (AIO are smaller, so more noise on average).

Other then that, so is it for looks and if you want to.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

Custom loop allows you to customise your loop and expand it however you want, not to mention more cooling performance. But, there are also expandable AIOs like the ones from Fractal Design, Swiftech and EKWB, which can be refilled and expanded to hold more waterblocks and rads, unlike closed loop AIOs like Corsair ones. These expandable AIOs generally have better performance than closed AIOs, especially the Swiftech and EKWB ones, that use a full copper radiator and quality parts.

If you are not planning to expand your AIO loop, the ability to refill one is a godsend, as you will have to throw your closed AIO away when it dries up, as it is closed and not meant to be opened in any way.

Forgot I had this pic. I did it just to test stuff and see if it was gonna be worth it for me and I had the time and finds to waste. Currently ordering parts for custom loop.
