Hello and sorry if there's already a topic like this.

MOBO: H81M-DS2

CPU: Intel G3250 3.2Ghz with the stock air cooling.

PSU: 450W

I think my case fan are 80mm (i measured it and it was 8cm from hole to hole)

I'm looking for a new CPU air cooling system and 1 Case Fan 80mm,i prefer low dB and performance over good looking.

Any suggestions?

PS. sorry for my bad english

The G3250 doesn't generate lot of heat. The original Intel CPU cooler should do just fine.

If you think the case fan is too noisy. You can go to the BIOS and reduce the fan speed(supposed the case fan is plug to the fan header of the mobo). Case fan and CPU do not need to run at max speed. And monitor the CPU temp when you reduce the fan speed. Find a good balance between noise and cooling.

However, if you really want a new CPU cooler. I'd recommend Cryorig C7, about $30, and replace the 80mm case fan with a Noctua Redux NF-R8 1200rpm. The Noctua NF-R8 can run at full speed/12V without making any noise, sort of set it and forget it.

Ok so system fan speed and cpu fan speed were set to normal and the cpu temp was about 37C

Changed to Silent, cpu temp went to about 40-41C but noise was almost the same so i changed back to Normal.

So i guess i'll go with the new cooling, but am i going to see a big difference in noise and performance?

Normally I like to set the fan speed individually, to see which fan generates the noise. Instead of relying the pre-set "normal", "quiet" fan profile from the BIOS, since the BIOs doesn't know whether your case fan is a 1200rpm or 1800rpm version or whatever.

Try to run a stress test like AIDA 64, or even a simple one like Cinebench to see the max temp under full load. In idling and light load, 30 something degree is perfectly fine. If the temp goes above 70C under full load. I might start to change the fan speed to reduce temp. Generally, if you prefer silent, reduce the fan speed as much as possible while keeping the CPU temp reasonable.

For the record, my secondary PC(one I'm using now) runs with CPU fan(92mm) at 950rpm and a 120mm case fan at 750rpm, with CPU temp at 33C. It's practically silent from 60cm away, where I'm sitting.

Before you go on buying things, first identify where the noise is coming from.
