So as I was starting my next GoT episode VLC decided it had "crashed in an unusual way" but the video/audio file was playing at the same time. I click okay and it closed.

Event viewer log as follows:

Faulting application name: vlc.exe, version: 2.2.1.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Faulting module name: libqt4_plugin.dll, version: 2.2.1.0, time stamp: 0xa2d0a2c0
Exception code: 0x40000015

I ran chkdsk and it's clean, restart and it works again. Ideas what this means?

Did you try running that video again, I've had a couple corrupted video files cause weird crashes before with VLC.

Yep. Currently watching it. Odd stuff. a few episodes back I had to re-download a file since only 13seconds of the video were there, the rest gone. File was 10MB as opposed to 1.2GB
