Hello all,

I will be building a new pc for gaming purposes. My budget is a maximum of 1100 euro.

I have selected most of my hardware already, but still need to select a PSU.

I will be overclocking, and might expand to a SLI configuration at a later points

my current build:

CPU: i5 4670K

mobo: msi z87-g45 gaming

GPU: msi GTX760 twin frozr

Ram: corsair vengeance 8GB 1600mhz, red

CPU cooler: hyper 212 evo

Case: fractal define r4 windowed

Thanks in advance,

p.s With this build I have around 220 euros left for a PSU and if possible to squeeze it in a SSD.

get a higher end gpu, like the 780 or 7970 with the leftover money

780 and 7970 are completely different, he also has a somewhat strict budget where he would not be able to afford a 780 which costs €600.

GX750 80+ Bronze PSU is dirt cheap now for some odd reason. Has a single 12V rail so no instability there. It's non-modular but it works =)

As for an SSD, I would say a Kingston HyperX 3K. Logan from TekSyndicate loves his so why not?

With the extra cash, you might want to invest is some case fans, a better cooler such as the NZXT Havik 140 with some Noctua NF-A15s or just save it up for another day =)

sorry. i made a mistake again, i just finish a test, and my mind is stopping. i though you had some money reserved for the psu, but a corsair cx600m should do the job, and is semi modular. I dont think ssds are needed, since they cost a lot. what i do recommend is a 7870 XT, which is basically a bit slower 7950, but cheaper, and as far as i know is a better price/performance than a 760, and with the upcoming frametimefix you can CF in the future. i might be a bit biased because i have one though.

I would go as far as to say the GTX 760 is more than enough and actually performs quite well. Also with the features the 700 series of NVidia cards offer, I would favour the GTX 760 more. However if you can find a 7950 with a good cooler for around the same cost, I don't see why not. Once you overclock the card, makes one hell of a beast :)

My recommendation would be the Coolermaster v700: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/700w-cooler-master-v-series-80-plus-gold-upto-93-efficiency-4x-pci-e-6plus2-pin-silent-135mm-fdb-fan

It's a high quality unit that is based off of the Seasonic KM3 platform just like the XFX ProSeries Black Edition and Corsair AX760/860 but with a higher quality FBD fan from Protechnics. It would power a 760 in SLI.

Being a single rail doesn't actually make it more stable. The reason why it is cheap, because it's a poorly build Seventeam unit, that failed around 650w and went out of specification in ripple suppression at 435w. Here's the review of that unit: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=188

i would say around 600 watts should fit your build nicely, then you also have upgradeability. Personally i would say, get a 7950, it should be cheaper and perform better then a 760.
