Hi All,

I'm running a delided 4770k (used Liquid Ultra TIM) in my custom loop. My loop consists of the following:

  • EK Supremacy Evo CPU block
  • Swiftech MCP655 pump
  • EK Coolstream PE 240 Rad
  • EK Coolstream XE 360 Rad
  • NB eLoop fans
  • Distilled Water

I got a bad overclocker, so I'm running my CPU at 4.5GHz with 1.39v. When running the AIDA64 stress test, my hottest core is peaking at 72C, only 4C less than when I was using my H100 @ 1.38V. I'm getting the feeling that this is too high. What do you guys think?

I'm wondering if the contact between the CPU and the block is the concern. EK sells mounting hardware for their blocks that are specifically for delidded CPUs called the PreciseMount Add On Naked Ivy (so-named because they sold it for Ivy Bridge processors). Try to find it through your favorite site or direct from EK and remount the block using that if you're not already using it.

Wife's build: Amethyst - Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200, ASUS Prime X570-P, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 12GB, Corsair Obsidian 750D, Corsair RM1000 (yellow label)

My build: Mira - Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB EVGA DDR4-3200, ASUS Prime X470-PRO, EVGA RTX 3070 XC3, beQuiet Dark Base 900, EVGA 1000 G6

Interesting. I delided, replaced the TIM, then put the heatspreader back on. Never though to put the water block directly on the die. Think it would make a big difference?

Also, do those temps seem too high?

Temps look fine to me, you're pushing a lot of voltage. I've got my 4770K at 4.2ghz @ 1.28v and it maxs out around 60 degree in my loop.
