You really aren't understanding me are you? I am simply, upgrading the CPU. Not because of a bottleneck, not because I'm struggling to run games, but because I would like a better CPU. This whole thread has just turned into an unneeded discussion, one which I am not taking any further than this.

Like I keep saying. You are gonna spend 220 quid and then realize you are in the exact same situation that you are in right now with the AMD cpu i.g. wanting to upgrade cuz "you want a better CPU." And you'll be on a completely dead platform. No new CPUs made. Old CPUs just as expensive as new CPUs. And you'll be forced to rebuy a new mobo and a new cpu. And all this can be avoided by simply spending an extra 70 quid on a ~40% better platform. It's your money, if you wanna throw it down the drain obvious I'm not gonna stop you.

Oh my god. The point is I won't want to upgrade for a long time. By then, Skylake etc will be much cheaper anyway and I'll have a full time job to be able to afford such things. I know loads of people using less powerful CPU's that are happy with it. I have actually found a 4590 for the same price so I will be choosing that either way, but for now, Skylake is out of reach.
