Constant Packet Loss.

Hello,

 

I have been having constant rubber banding and packet loss for well over 4 months now and it has gone one teleport in an online match too far. I have forked out around £70 on a network adapter and am able to get a good strong connection of 15Mbp/s (which for me is great). I used to use powerline and kept getting massive rubber banding. I now have a wireless adapter and have found that I am still getting packet loss and teleporting, even though I have low ping of 20-30 ms.

 

Is it my router that is the cause of the issue? I have had it for well over 3 years but has always done great.

 

Any fixes or thing I can do?

I am on Virgin Media by the way.

Run WinMTR to the server you are trying to use (or 8.8.8.8 as a test) to see where the packet loss is actually occurring.

If inside of your network, then replace the device causing it.

If outside your network, contact your ISP or use a VPN for different routing.

What modem/gateway and router do you have? What wireless adapter? How do you have either configured?

 

What plan do you have with Virgin Media?
