Everytime I try to load to defaults it won't reset at all

 

RMA it and call it a day

So I tried reseating the CMOS battery and using a jumper but alas the volts never went down :( I assume my CPU is fine right?

Oh I remember you talking about this forever ago, you still can't get a boot? 

You might have just fried your cpu or a memory imm, although can you see any burnt traces on the motherboard anywhere?

No I can't :( but it boots fine which is weird even though its hitting 3.8-4.0 volts

its almost as if the volts have been locked some how

Wait wait you can get into the bios?

Yeah but it keeps telling me CPU error an the ASUS Surge Protection thing. My CPU temp hits at 40C but that's about it

Can you reset the bios within the menus though?

I did. Called in a RMA but for the meantime I ordered the Gigabyte Z170X
