Audio Driver Question

My MSI laptop came with an audio manager/driver(Nahimic) that I still haven't uninstalled yet, as I'm not sure what effects it will have on actual audio management. Will there be any negative effects if I uninstall it? I don't like it because it gives a prompt to decide an audio output upon plugin...and is easy to miss, outputting to both speakers and headphones. Are there any good alternatives? Many thanks.
