TS3 Server Asrock G10 Ac-2600

Is it a matter of it not working, or the option not being there?

The router definitely can Port Forward from the WAN settings section.

Page 28 (Section 6.3.3) in the manual has the steps for it.

"6.3.3 Port Forwarding

You may use this function to establish a web server or FTP server via an IP gateway. Make
sure that you enter a valid IP address. (You may need to establish a static IP address in
order to properly run an internet server.) For added security, internet users will be able
to communicate with the server, but they will not actually be connected. he packets will
simply be forwarded through the router.

Service: Enable Port Forwarding and add a service.
Port Range: Enter the port range.
Local IP: Enter the LAN IP address of the server that you want the internet users to access.
Local Port: Enter a speciic port to receive forwarded packets.
TCP/UDP: Choose the required protocol.
: Add a service."

How would i know if i have a static ip? Would i need to call isp?

It depends on your ISP and location. Many ISPs use a form of DHCP that will free up an IP if it is unused for a certain amount of time. So, if your router is unplugged for a period of time, you may end up being assigned a new IP. If you don't disconnect it, then your IP should stay the same. You could call your ISP to check, or request a static IP.

You'll also want a local static IP on whatever system the TS3 server is running on, so you don't have to redo the port forwarding if it gets assigned a new IP after restarting. The local IP (as in, people don't need to know the local IP, just the WAN and port number) doesn't matter, really, as it's just for you to apply port forwarding.

I don't see what im doing wrong?

Have you tried testing with a tool like this: http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm

It may be worth restarting the router once you've applied the changes. Have you got people trying to connect to the server from outside your network?

EDIT: It may be worth changing the default port for the server, rather than 9987.

It says the port is not open.

My recommendation would be to first reset the router to default settings. Check to make sure its firmware is updated, then try port forwarding again. Make sure your IP on the server is static (maybe try using an IP like 192.168.1.111 so it's easy for you to recognise). If it still does not work, try disabling the router's firewall and testing, and as a last case, for testing only, set the server as DMZ to test.

That router is fairly recently released, right? it could be an issue in the early stages of its firmware. If you still can't get it to work, you may be better off trying the TS3 forums, or contacting ASRock support.

I tried everything you said etc asrock support. Ts3 Forums are evil 6 hours for a response and its people assuming you are a dumbass. Thanks for helping,

No problem. The only other thing I can suggest is trying another router if you have one available.

I know a bit about port forwarding, but don't have any experience with setting up a TS3 sever specifically. Maybe if you could find someone on the LTT forums who runs their own TS3 server, they may be able to help you.

There's a few TS3 servers listed here. The moderator Looney owns one of them, so it may be worth sending him a message with your question.
