server ram?

Im looking at upgrading the ram i have for my pc/home server. I currently have around 2gb of ram. I don't use anything to crazy like 3d design but i ​occasionally use photoshop and do a few light load games. i try not to have to many things open at the same time. Im the only one using the "server"so there wont be much stress overall. How much ram would be beneficial without breaking like 2 or $300 dollars

8gb stick is like 50$ if you are talking about ddr3

Start by listing your hardware and giving your location. You most likely won't need more than 16gigs for home server.
