Alright so I want to build my own PC and I have a build in mind but I need some input. I'm planning to play some GTA V, CSGO, and Battlefield on a 1080p, maybe 1440p monitor. My budget is around $1000 and I'm kinda going for a blue interior theme. Thanks for your suggestions (: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bXQ3hM

Change the psu to a better quality one (SeaSonic, XFX...)

Change the GPU to a R9 390/x

Change the Z97 mobo to a B85 or a H97

Actually, that build isn't half bad.  I suggest dumping the GTX 970 for a superior R9 380, or 380X(There isn't much of a difference between x and non x but hey it's newer).  Also you can OC non OC-able CPU's with MOST Z170 boards nowadays.

A little over budget, but I've included a 1440p IPS monitor, room to upgrade to crossfire, and a blue/white theme. You can step down to an i5 4460, but I think the Xeon is better value.

This one has a weaker CPU, less mass storage space, and a micro-ATX motherboard. Also, it gives up the crossfire upgradeability and has a smaller 1440p monitor. On the upside, it's about $200 cheaper.

To compliment the blue interior theme, you can add in this blue Silverstone CPU cooler for slightly better temps and silence than the stock heatsink.

The 380/X is not really a competitor of the 970. More like the 390/X vs 970.

It's about $20 more to a SeaSonic s12ii of equivalent voltage, so OP could consider that if these PSUs are as bad as you say they are.

Before even considering performance I'd ask myself if there isn't a higher justifiable budget than 35$ when building a 900$ build. :/

The NEX is not as bad but ad you said there are better PSUs out there and I think you should better go for those if you can.
