Because the bottom was red, and the inside white, he wanted something like a transition

Red leds are placed on the right sure, white on top and bottom

I can spot two things the rest of everyone will disagree with.

1) The 8350

2) The 960

You reserved a bit too late. You can use spoiler to make look nicer.

What does reserved mean in this context?

With source games, yes because an Intel CPU would give higher average FPS and higher minimum FPS. Also, if @op's friend decides to play more games then a 380 may perform up to 15% better depending on the game.

That is true due the fact Intel CPU has better single threaded performance which most games needs. I have presumed all my friend to go with Intel like i5 and they never regretted it won't be a bottleneck for a while.

fallout 4 at med settings, 1080p 60fps?

That will be the most demanding game he will play

If you had i5 you could get stable fps, as my previous FX6300 OC drops down to 10-20fps but after changing to I7 6700k and had no problem(stable 60fps). Personally he could have waited for Zen if you he wanted to go AMD, a intel is still a much better option for gaming.

Missed me?

Did you notice I was gone?

Yah, now be a good boy and behave lol, personally I would of put an 8370E in the 970 Krait due to the VRM but if it's stock it should be okay.

also, sorry, it's a Fx 8350.

I know, personally wouldn't put anything over 95w TDP in the 970 krait. But it will be fine stock, gotta say it's looking good!
