NBN & Ethernet?

Making plans now for my house and since we are also getting NBN I was wondering can you just plug the ethernet port's into the NBN box and have them connect to your devices or would I still need to plug a router/switch to the NBN box and have it work that way....

I think you get about 5 Ethernet ports to use on the box

NBN modem -> Router -> ect, ect
