yeah everything is the same. i dont think i have my windows key, or disc unfortunately.

so you guys are saying i have to re install it?

You don't have to reinstall Windows; just remove all the drivers (i.e. sound, SATA, Eithernet, etc) drivers that belongs to your old motherboard, and install the proper ones for your new board.

If you replace your motherboard, the registry values, and ID will not match what was recorded during the Windows install process.

Due to this, Windows will spit out a warning or error, and will ask you to re-activate Windows with your Windows Product Key.

If you call Microsoft up, saying you need to replace the motherboard because it failed (or something like that), they can help you reactivate Windows over the phone.

They WILL ask you for a Windows Product Key.

If you are already on Windows 10, the Product Key is stored in the Microsoft servers...but that are tied to your motherboard...

How do you not have your Windows key?
