Hi everyone.

I am getting a weird sound from my machine.

It appears after somewhere between 30mins to 2 hours of moderate use, and once it starts, it gets more and more frequent to a point of almost constant 'clicking'

I got a video of it when it had been going on for 5 minutes:

If I let it sit for longer, it gets more frequent and if I reboot, it continues.

It only goes away if I shut my system down and start it again.

First, I thought it might have been a bubble in the pump, but I'm starting to think it's power/static/something else since it gets more intense over time and disappears when I power cycle the system.

Anyone got any ideas? I'd love to hear some opinions and guesses before I start spending money on new coolers and fans and so on.

I've tried, it's rather difficult, but it sounds like its from the RAM/CPU/pump/power phases.

Definitely not the HDD's as I first expected, as I tried running the system only on the SSD and the sound still appeared.

My processor is the 5960X and ofc came without a cooler, so for me to test the cooler, I'd have to buy a new one since I don't know anyone who has a spare 2011-3 cooler lying around :P

It's probably the pump. Remove the pump/waterblack and put on the stock heatsink. If the clicking disappears then you know it was the pump.

Guess I'll have to buy a new cooler. 5960X came boxed w/o a cooler so can't test it without spending ;)

Can you borrow one from a friend?

Coolers for CPUs are quite cheap, you are not going to spend more than like 20$ on a cheapo cooler.

Athlon X2 for only 27.31$   Best part lists at different price points   Windows 1.01 running natively on an Eee PC
