Kerbal Space Program Lag

So, when I try and build in the Hangar or rocket builder I get major lag. So my question is is there a way to lower the lag by decreasing the amount of kerbals in the background or anything else? Also, I'm worried that the lag shouldn't be happening with my build. I've got a 980ti and 5820K.

no you definately shouldnt be getting lag in the hanger. How many parts are in your builds. i ask because i have a huge space station and every time i get near it i lag. keep in mind ksp is only a 32bit program curerently and can only use 3gb of ram, but you shouldn't be getting lag in the hanger since no physics are enabled there

It just lags when I get in there. No parts, no anything, just lag.

EDIT: It happens when I look down at the kerbals below

it is becasue the game is 32 bit so it can't get enough ram to load textures.

Bullshit. It can get more than enough ram to load all of the default textures.
