Is water cool a necessity if sli'ing 2 980 ti's

If I am going to sli to 980ti's (considering the airflow condition(the heat output of the cards)) will I have to use water cooling or a workable airlflow config will work?

You shouldnt need to.

Nope I have 2 and tip card hits 72 degrees max, but as always when I tel people that

I had to add this fan to the side that blows straight on the heat sinks
