Agreed. Not a fan of their mouses or headsets etc, but then I don't go for "gamer gear" (MX Master, ATH-M70x etc), but when it comes to systems, they are awesome.

 try this http://minidrive.bynifty.com/products/minidrive-r13

Edit: there are a few similar products, but this is the first on Google. They fit nice and flush and are great for mass storage. Kinda like a SSD+HDD in a desktop

i just basically put that inside the sd card connector right? arethere anymore options?

As stated above I would much rather see you go for an Asus Zenbook of sorts. It is identical to a Macbook in every way but the specs. You could always download OSX and have it installed if you prefer that over Windows.

Even if that were true, the Macbook has better CPU performance and worse GPU performance, and the OP's use case looks like a more CPU-heavy workload.

The 13-inch Macbook Pro gets 321 on Cinebench R15 Multi 64 with its i5-5257U while the Zenbook with its i7-6500U gets 278.

Yup, pretty easy. That way you can just forget about it. Alternatives include cloud storage of large files (possibly expensive), an external drive or maybe flash drive. Honestly, mine was 128GB with Photoshop CC, Flash CC and Illustrator CC as well as AutoCad and a few games and I never had less that 20GB free space.

Being a student myself, and having gone the macbook route in the past ( mabook pro 13), I would say that if you are already a windows user, and have been one for a long time switching the mac ecosystem without another windows system will just drive you crazy (at least it drove me crazy). That said, to this day I have found nothing as premium feeling as my old macbook, which is still in use by my father today!

I bought the 128gb surface 3 this year and have to say its the best thing for a student (with hindsight though, and given the budget i'd go with the surface pro 4). It is great for note taking (especially for me since I write loads of math and draw loads of graphs), the onedrive storage thing works instantaneously and very well, and it comes with a subscription to office 365 (if your uni/school doesn't give you one for free.) I even managed to (barely) run skyrim on it for a while.

It is just very versatile and could even potentially replace a laptop given your usage. I personally find it counter productive for any student to buy something other than the surface for uni/schoolwork, given their budget is not limited as it often is. had you only had 600usd to spend, which would also cover you perfectly, it would be a whole different story.

I had the same debate, the 13" pro is what I went for, mainly because there is more or less nothing in the price, you get a slightly thicker laptop but its a lot more powerful, and from experience the Macbook Pro 13" 2015 is an amazing little laptop.
