I am looking to build a computer (obviously) for gaming and rendering for a friend.

I have a 6000 AUD limit (mabey 500 either side).

I want to include the Acer Predator Z35 monitor and Corsair Carbide Air 540

I know ive said "I" alot...

prefer to stay to intel cpus and nvidia based gpus

Help, advice and part lists wanted!

What do you use to render? Is it something that you make money off? Depending on what software you use, it'll either prefer high core count or high single core performance: what that means is that the 5930K may be a better bet if it isn't well optimised for anything beyond 6 cores because the jump to a 5960X is huge in terms of cost.

Going with E5 Xeon's is an option but I wouldn't recommend it - huge cost to get high core performance. E5 platform is designed for large core count.

ECC RAM I wouldn't bother with - higher cost - doesn't make a huge difference. By RAM in multiple kits: if one is faulty, you only have to send back that set, not all the DIMMS leaving you with no RAM.

Quadro vs FirePro vs GeForce vs AMD consumer - depends on what the software you've got wants.

Don't go Windows 10 if this is a production machine: it's far too unstable
