Is it better to go with 2 8gb sticks of ram or 4 4gb sticks of ram for a gaming riggeroni?

Thanks

Depents on what your motherboard supports. (Dual/Tripple/Quad-Channel RAM slots).

If you have an manual of your motherboard you can look up what it is supporting.

If your Motherboard supports dual channel, you should go for 2x8GB sticks of RAM so it can take advantage of this feature.

And if it can support tripple/quad-Channel I personally would stick with 2x8GB anyway because you probably leave 2 slots open, so you can upgrade your RAM in the future.

1x 60GB also works, if your not running an APU it dosent really matter

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Two 8GB. I got four 4GB for my 2500K way back when it came out, and I regret it because I now need more RAM (Content creation) but I can't upgrade without changing all of the sticks.

~snip~

Hey there Festive,

As the guys suggested, it would really depend on your motherboard if it supports dual-channel, quad-channel or something else. :) Upgradeability options are also important as if you run out of DIMM slots you would need to remove some of the sticks and replace them.
What is your motherboard? What are you using the system for? Are you planning on upgrading in the future?
