First of all, I would like to say, that I´m not a fanboy but I like competition and it´s hard to see a company having great ideas and pushing the Industry forward with new standarts and they can´t catch a break.

I got this idea listening to Brian Tracys audiobooks, where it´s said, that you should ask your customers for what they could do, to improve, to make us happier.

So, feel free to write down your suggestions for what they should do to become better than they competition.

imo pointless post.

You are asking a tech company who focuses on the latest mass production of the most important advancement in human history to read consultation on how to make "better" processors?

Sure, it might be like, hey try to not make your GPU heat up that much, but then again, what do we know about GPUs?

Advertise the software that comes with their products.

For example Nvidia with Shadowplay/PhysX..

They always did, AMD is better than Nvidia than this.

Remember when more cores was the thing?

Now the puny 8 core 8350 is losing downright to a 4690.

The 5 GHZ AMD CPU? Yeah that loses to a 4GHZ one.

Who actually records and edits videos? People say they do but if they all did then we would have way, way more videos on YouTube and such. PhysX is pointless, the last game that really used it was Borderlands 2, and honestly it's not even needed, my 290 runs BL2 just fine.

AMD does advertise their software, especially Crimson (which is very nice, and is actually useful) but they don't make a huge overblown mess out of it like Nvidia. The only thing I would say is okay from Nvidia software wise is probably GameWorks, but that's just dev sponsoring crap.

The hardware is on point and the software is going in the right direction. What they need is a good narketing department. Your average consumer doesnt even know that the new Tomb Raider uses TressFx even in the console version. That is a colassal dropping of the ball on AMD's part.

+1

AMD's marketing is horrible, and they are still struggling to turn public perception around. It doesn't help that they get slighted by every tech reviewer on the planet, but in the end they made a bad decision with Bulldozer that pissed off a lot of customers back then, and ATI customers switched to Nvidia after AMD bought ATI out.

Radeon Technologies Group is basically ATI 2.0 and they are doing a fantastic job in my opinion.

I would agree. The crimson software is pretty snazzy too. Now they just need to get rid of the Raptr parasite.

You are very much counterargumenting yourself. AMD's marketing is really bad, we all know. If it would have been better, you might have thought of VCE/TressFx.

That is used by some gamers. 95% of people (myself included) don't care about anything they'll bundle in - just give me a driver and that's all. I want to install and forget. ;)

Zen needs to be competitive. If they can't compete with at least Haswell with their pricing/performance, they're lost. If they don't have anything enthusiast-oriented - they're screwed. I want to love AMD. I want to get that 8-core goodness. Sure, it's power-hungry, sure, it runs hot, but back then I could recommend that. Nowadays I can only recommend FX-series CPUs only to people who are on a REALLY tight budget and want a gaming rig. (think, 500$ and you want to fit a r9 380 there).

Give me a viable solution to build a high-power SFF system with Zen. I can get a freakin' X99 ITX motherboard and get a 2699v3 if I can afford it. I can't get an AM3+ ITX motherboard if my life depended on it.

And that's just one example.
