Strange visual anomaly

chowdog13

Two weeks ago I upgraded from a GTX 770 to a GTX 980 Ti, at which point I also switched from using a dual-link DVI cable to a DisplayPort cable. Since then, on two separate occasions I've woken my PC to find my monitor displaying a distorted image. The top image shows the distortion while the bottom image shows what the monitor should normally look like. Rebooting the PC solves the issue for the time being but that is not a solution.

Any thoughts?

may be your displayport cable is a bit iffy and is corrupting the signal.

can you switch back to the dual link dvi?

It certainly could be a faulty cable, and yes, I still have my dual-link dvi cable. Maybe I'll use that for a few weeks and see if it happens again. Really hope it isn't the 980 Ti lol  :D
