My old pc is just ridiculously long in the tooth (built 6 years ago).

Main uses - everything - games, work (office), browsing, Photoshop, etc.  Do plan to OC.

Already have - Corsair Air 540 case and Swiftech X220 X2 cooler.  Current monitor is 1080p not upgrading any time soon.

Would like to keep around the 1200-1300 range.  Open to any feedback/suggestions as it's been awhile :)

Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($159.98 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card  ($333.98 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit)  ($95.00 @ Amazon)
Total: $1290.90
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Dominator Platinum is a premium product where you're charged extra for the looks alone - you could save money here buy getting cheaper RAM (even with same spec).

390 is a little overkill for 1080p, a 380 or 380x would be fine too.

Almost as cool as my temps

Very nice build, you could save money with a less premium Ram and have the same performance. 30-60$ back in your pocket.

The 500gb ssd is nice but you could save money with a smaller unit since you will run a 2tb drive. That's a other 50-80$ in your pockets.

Those are just my opinions... The ssd should run windows and maybe the game you play the most.

My old pc is just ridiculously long in the tooth (built 6 years ago).

Should go Xeon 1231v3 over Skylake

Also includes a 1440p display, you're best off upgrading, more pixels is always better for productivity

Also ya to the above guy, that RAM is a huge waste of money

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
