Second monitor fps drops

Jack Sparrow
Go to solution Solved by Jack Sparrow,

we need some more info

whats the resolution you run on your other display?

the old display wont have much more than the fullhd acer, even then the ti is a best and should run it

check your nvidia control panel for display modes

It is now set on 2560x1600, I think this is too high but if I set it to a lower resolution my screen get really ugly

Hi,

First off all my pc specs:

PSU: Corsair AX760i 80Plus Platinum

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K - Boxed

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61

MB: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition - Socket 1150 - DDR3

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB

HDD: Western digital Caviar Green 2TB

Graphics card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti - Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ - 6GB GDDR5

RAM: Kingston Technology HyperX Fury - DDR3 1866Mhz CL10 Kit Wit - 16GB

Case: NZXT H440 Wit/Zwart

Monitor: Acer XB270HA

Today is was trying to add a second monitor I found at home, its an Apple Cinema 30 inch (Apple, I know  :P  but didn't want to buy another one if I had this one at home  ;) )

And normaly I have like high fps on all the things I do on it, but when I plug in my 2nd monitor my fps drops to 7 fps.

Is this because they don't work together?

Maybe because its too big?

Please help me because I really enjoy 2 monitors.

Thanks in advance!!

Do you have "Multiple display performance mode" selected for "Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration" in the Nvidia control panel?

my 980ti runs 22" with 1080p desktop with monitoring and the other 34" with 3440x1440 playing witcher3 maxed out

did you use the 2nd display while gaming too or was it on the "desktop"

It was when I was playing the witcher 3, but now that I have changed my Multiple display performance mode to Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration like Leonard told me that is seems to work fine now! So thanks for taking your time and helping me!

Anytime...i would also recommend you do some configurations in control panel to help get a better experience in games regarding both quality and performance.
