Is there anything good coming out in the next 2 years from amd or intel that will be useful/worth upgrading to?

How much power will intel save me really? I pull about 650w (Computer only) out from the wall at full load.

"AMD will not continue any more with socket AM3+ AM3 AM2......"

Im updating from a Asus Crosshair IV with a 8120 @4ghz 1.25V to something like haswell for power consumption and performace reasons. I currently have a gtx 690 which I plan to keep in my backup rig (ikr what a waste. but I keep old things . Still have my 790i Ultra SLI with GTX 8800 Ultra) This will be my Third High end build and I dont go full crazy. BUT if you do convince me that upgrading isn't worth it right now I wont. I only use my computer to play games and do some light video edits/render.

My thoughts are:
Gigabyte z87x OC

i5 4670k

Somthing like a GTX 780 or that new AMD gfx

32GB Kingston HyperX Beast

2 256GB Samsung SSD raid cant remember but copies onto 2 hdds same info

2x3tb W/D Black Raid edition.

I dont know about the ax1200i as I will be using less than 20% power consumption

I will sleeve my own cables and probability will get a custom loop.

The cases all look ugly But I like the look of my currently cases 800D(with 790i) and Strom Trooper with window.(CH IV F)

If you are looking for performance, either stick a 8350 or wait for new gen CPUs/APUs next year... Your rig is pretty powerfull already...

And for power comsumption, almost allways performance comes hand to hand to high power comsumption (excep the 9XXX CPU series from AMD which is jsut a ripoff...)

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link
