Best router+modem combo (or seperate) for good price

moisty

I just need something that isn't provided by my ISP haha

I've been using the ISP provided router for too long and I need something a lot better, but isn't over kill (like quad band routers)

i got an edge router from ubiquiti with the ac ap pro access point from them as well, should be 210 or something

While I always support grabbing that combo for most homes, he also said his "modem."

Depends on your setup.

Your internet will only go as fast as what you pay for.

I would recommend getting separate units for router and modem.

If you pay for high bandwidth, spend more on modem.  If you want good wifi speeds/range, spend more on router.

Since you are already set up with your ISP router/modem, I would just wait around for a good deal to pop up on a motorola/arris surfboard modem (these happen quite frequently, ~$60 or less for a doscis 3.0 modem)

Then spend whatever budget you have left on a router.  I would try to look for a sale on Asus AC68U.   It's the free one that T-mobile gives out so its very popular, has a lot of 3rd party support for custom firmware, etc.  If you have T-mobile, its just a $25 deposit, if not, there are often sales for ~$150.
