Hello community my name is Bob, I am an avid gamer, played sense the day's of the first gameboy black and white.

Now to get to this build,

I currently have been saving up for a bit and on top of which I have saved some parts from older rigs I have owned over time.

Due to life issues I have sold my rigs, bought new ones, and then sold them again and now I have decided to build my first machine,

instead of buying a pre-build and upgrade later.

Here's what im working with,

2011 E3 exclusive AMD A8 6600 FM2 socket type

1x Kingston Hyper X 3k 120gb sata 3 2.5in SSD

10x segate 7200 rpm 1tb drives (will not use them all just have alot of them so storage is not an issue)

GOAL

Spoiler

Now my goal in the long run is to build a custom case I will be designing, but as an overview of what i'm looking for size wise is

close to the Raven Rcz01, so I'm in need of a mother board that has FM2 support to use what i have along with support an upgrade if i chose to move to something else later on, Keep in mind it will most likely have to be mini atx in size and currently have wifi on board, On top of which it will need enough ports to power 6 fans or minimum 4 ports i will just use splitters to power them to board. the extra port will be to utilize my icon display, yes the same display seen on the Pandora case.

Granted my terminology is horrid so I know i will call parts the wrong name but ohhwell.

This mother board will also need to hold ..you guessed it, a Videocard, yes I know, why use a the A8 with a video card, why not just buy a different cpu,

blah blah, I am trying to use what I already have and building around that for now.

I'll most likly be looking at 2-4gb cards, MSi, or AMD so no nvidia cards. I do love nvidia gtx 760+ but for this build we wont be using nvidia

Concept

So my design will be as follows,

I have found multiple screens that will work so i just need to build the case and finish the parts after.

I plan on the case to hold mobo on the top left so the IO comes out the back of the first layer. the power supply to sit top right fan facing up. the graphics card is to be seated on a custom mount that will hold it horizontal with the mobo just above the left of the mobo with its fans facing up aswell it will connect via a pcie cable. the mount will also hold the top side of the case to the bottom side pannel for stability reasons. it will be able to unscew out. now the left and right side of the case will hold rads with fans pushing or pulling air from the side walls with removeable filters most likly magnetic mesh filters. you will be routing the cables with the green lines with little cable clamps or cable ties. to the case wall on top. optional for two rads to connect but will have the mounting options on both sides for either rads or fans. custom cable for fans to connect to mobo or fan controller. I would be getting an AIO rad with pump built in but between the mobo and us will be a mounting bracket for a pump/resivoir combo. and the ability to tie in 3 drives be it 3 2.5ssds as no one needs HDDS anymore but just incase their will be a dock style conector on the bottom right of the case to run a swapping option for a 3.5 hdd. The HDD will pop through a rubber gromunt or a memory card style pop drive cover like the xbox 360 had for controllers on the face pannle, on the top left to mid of the face pannle with be a window to look in at the parts. the right side from top to bottom will be air wholes that are to vent air with a slide in magnetic fliter that will be slim. Think of a case with in a portable case like the gaem's xbox one this case will be diesgined to seat in a carry case for quick connect to a pop up monitor and hold the game controller/keyboard and mouse.

I'll be updating this every time i finish a concept art for it now, but this is mainly for my reading, so if you care to take a peak and leave a comment go for it. I'm just using this post to keep records of my Project.

Once I start building I will also add to this post. -TBD-

The case will sit with in a portable carry case and connect to the monitor via custom cables. so when the top folds up with the monitor it will have play to pull the cables but not damage them.

Now for helping me I will give you thanks, that's about it, if you don't want to help don't comment, if you do want to help thanks.

Should be fine with a 380

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-axr93804gbd5ppdhe

but otherwise, why are you spending money to put entry level parts into like a custom case and all that? You're better off putting that towards a new PC.

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

I was thinking a MSI A88XM FM2+FM2 AMD SATA Matx Motherboard, paired with a MSI Radeon R9 380 graphics card, The A8 6600 isn't a bad APU, it runs quite well in most benchmarks, but isn't the end of the line for my choice, i just wanted to make a build with it sense i have had id for so long and it's still worth a use. Maybe toss in some 8-16gb ram though i don't want this build to be more then 500$ atm so im still weighing my options for later upgrading,

Well ya it's mostly fine, here's a similair CPU with a 290 vs an i5

but like forget the custom stuff and just save that money for the summer or something

Here's a more expensive list if ddr4 was a path to go, the motherboard comes with a free 8gb stick of g.skill ram aswell.

You could easily get an i5 + 390 for that budget, if you really wanted ITX you'd want an Elite 130 or something
