Hello! Our house only has 1 computer, and its a mac... so I decided to build my own computer to have my own files stored safely and to game. Macs are not good with that if you have never tried. The objects with a dash are the ones I still need to buy. Here are the specs;

550-watt power supply from cooler master

480gb Extreme Pro SSD from SanDisk

GTX960SSC graphics card from EVGA

Chaser A31 case from ThermalTake

- z97-a Motherboard from ASUS

- i7 4790k Proc from Intel

- 8GB of HyperX FURY ram from Kingston

- basic optical drive that isn't special

- wifi adaptor because I'm too lazy to get a wifi card

- probably something I forgot.

And new peripherals that I got:

Razer Blackwidow Chroma from Razer

Torq x10 mouse from EVGA

USB 3.0 hub from DLink

g430 Headset from Logitech

AC1200 router from DLink

super fancy fabric mouse pad of pure fancy

- New chair

- Better monitor (for future)

What do you think? Should I exchange anything for upgrade anything? Btw I need a name for my build. I was thinking Anethesios!

Get the R9 390 it is worth the extra cost.

Thank you for the suggestion but I have a lot of reasons why I went with that I went with.

-I went with the i7 for future overclocking. originally I wanted to go with the 4690K but it's not overclockable.

-I'm definitely going with a different CPU cooler because I have heard the stock one does not work well.

-there isn't much to change about the mobo, I just prefer ASUS over MSI (long story)

-memory is the same

-I didn't want a hard drive because I don't need even half a TB. My current computer has 1 TB and I have TONS of junk on it and I haven't even taken up 1/5 of space

-I wanted to get a GTX980 ti but I don't care much for graphics because I don't play graphic intensive games. specifically space engineers, TF2, CS-GO, and a few misc

-I don't like white cases. Only black and blue. the A31 matches my headphones and keyboard perfectly

-I like modular PSU's but tbh tightly packing the extra cables together is fine by me.

-I don't need a new monitor for a bit. I already have a few spare nice ones.

Yep your good. However i did hear that some i7 4790k processors overheat way too much if have a little extra dough go for 6700k its a refresh from the 4790k processor. Otherwise pray and hope you win the silicon lottery. Good luck

Motherboard: Asus Z97-Deluxe, Processor: Intel i7-4790K@4.3GHz@1.150Volts, GPU: Asus ROG GTX980 Matrix (with a NZXT G10 bracket and a nzxt x41 AIO liquid cooler), Ram: Kingston HyperX 32GB 1866MHz CL10, PSU: Corsair Hx1200i, Storage: 1TB Seagate SSHD with a Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB SSD, Display: BenQ XL2411Z, Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB, Mouse: Razer Deathadder chroma.

don't worry I'm going with a non-stock CPU cooler

hmm, if you're not going for graphic intensive games then you shouldn't get an i7.. unless you're doing a lot of work and stuff, i'd go with a i5-6600k if you want.. overclockable and an r9 390 or something like that. and i mean, it's a semi modular so you basically just have 24 pin and 8 pin together, and you can take off the monitor if you want... and just add an ssd and stuff

edit1. and also, if you want you can get an h100i, or something else... a noctua would be good.

I don't know I don't go for i5 processors because I heard there is no hyper-threading.

-If you're going future proof get the latest platform, Z97 is already replaced. Also the 4690K is over clockable, you should do some research prior to buying these things. All K series Intel CPUs are overclockable. The difference between i7 and i5 is i7 has hyper threading
