$20 AMD cooler

Go to solution Solved by ForsakenLive,

You can get a Cooler Master T4, it's a cheaper version of the Hyper 212 Evo. Usually around $20

Right now you can get it even cheaper if you do rebates. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rrt418pkr1

The hyper 212 EVO has been on sale at my Micro Center for about a year now. It's like $15.

Does it come with an amd clamp thing?

Looking at the back of my motherboard, yes.

Wait just a minute for a definite answer.

Here's the edit! Yes, it has a metal clamp.

@Mattsoup is this the correct thing? I'm using the 212 on AM3+.

Does this $15 include shipping?

Look at the edit, I included a picture. :)

Also, I said at my Micro Center. I'm guessing they've just been on clearance forever. Just this store. Online it's usually around $25, on Amazon you can get free shipping.

It's an fm2+, and I'm talking about the clip on tip used to clamp down amd coolers instead of screwing them in

oh. Well, mostly only small coolers and stock coolers use those, so I wouldn't bet on something as big as a T4 having push ins.

It's not a push in either. It's a lever that clamps down the cooler onto the cpu. The cooler doesn't even touch the mobo

Usually you would have to remove that to put anything but another stock cooler on. I know what you mean since I just built an FM2 system, but those brackets should be removeable and then you put the new backplate and cooler on with screws.

The hyper t4 levers in the way I want, but I don't want to spend quite that much. It might be worth a little more if the performance increase is high enough. How much cooler temperatures should I get vs stock cooler?
