Anyone else using this pump? I just installed it on my new 5820k and it's running fine but decided to use 2 noctua NF 14 140mm fans and also decided to not use the corsair link thing. I didn't even plug the fans into the connectors on the pump but rather to the fan header hub on the back of my case. I use the NZXT H440. I did that because I used the low noise adapter cables that came with the noctuas so the fans just run even quieter. I only plunged in the cpu fan header and the sata cable to power the pump. My question is though, by not using the corsair link, is my pump going to be running at the normal speed? I was reading that the software can adjust pump speed, fan speed LED color etc but i wasn't interested in any of that. Just curious now if not using it is going to make the pump under perform, especially once I overclock the CPU.

As long as you set the fan curve on the CPU header to be constant full speed on DC voltage control you should see no issues. However if your connecting the fans via the unit then your need the Corsair link software to be able ot control and vary that including the LED's.

im using the h110i gtx currently. the pump will default be set to performance mode which is kinda loud imo but there is 2 modes to choose from quiet and performance. Both are just fine and the default is performance so thats probably what yours is set to

Okay. I mean I don't really hear any pump noise. the NZXT h440 has nice sound dampening foam.

I'm not sure what you mean by setting the fan curve on the cpu header. Like the pump has a fan header cable I plugged in which is apparently to let the mobo know that a cpu fan is connected and it just transmits rpm data. Are you saying that I could adjust that rpm and change the pump speed?

Ideally the pump should be run at full speed and to vary pump speed it should be done via Corsair Link directly.

Alright. Yea I wasn't looking to lower the speed but just wanted to make sure it gets set at the default speed and I guess according to That_Random_Guy it defaults to performance mode, which is great!

The H110i pump is silent for me, even at full speed. I am using two Cougar fans that are hardly audible at full speed. This is on a 5820k running 24/7 gaming and folding.

yea it doesn't seem loud to me neither. But then again my cause does have sound dampening foam :P

You're fine not using the C.Link, I'm not. I could never get it to fully recognize my usb connection (and as of yet still none of my usb 2.0 headers are being used) so i un-installed it and pulled the plug so to say.

I have the stock fans in a push config and my thermal take ring fans in the pull config (i wanted it reversed for the looks, but according to the specs the stock ones have higher SP, although with the rad I do not believe that is of high importance) and mid 70s under the latest prime 95 4.7 @1.42V is quite nice. I may switch them around or get new fans later for experimentation.

My only complaints about the unit are that when I connected the head to the mobo the first time I had horrid cooling and upon removal I found a weird hour glass pattern in the stock tim. being that it had a lot of pressure from the hose/position it may have been my fault. Secondly the rad is not square, kinda shitty on the fabricators side, but I can get enough screws in to hold it up efficiently in push/pull

In addition to not using the Link, I have a custom fan curve that was made on my mobo's fan profiler (GA-z170-G7) and it favors a mid level combination of silence (~27 db from where I sit in relation to my pc) to performance at higher temps (about 40+ db at load). So with that the two stock fans are plugged in to 2 mobo fan mounts with the two led ring fans plugged into the other 2. Pump is in the pump spot.

edit: I also have 6 other fans, 2 140mm and 4 120mm fans in my rig so the noise isint only coming from the h110i
