my friend is opening up a tarpaulin shop and he needs a computer that is very very accurate when it comes to color.

what's the cheapest option that he has? can someone set me up parts from pcpartpicker? thank you very much. it needs to be the cheapest that can run illustrator/photoshop with no problems. thank you.

in your case the monitor might cost as much as the pc :) i would say around 700usd. rough estimate. maybe less.

What kind of work is he doing in Illustrator/Photoshop?

Also, color accuracy depends on the monitor(and graphics card?) most of the time.

Also, does he plan to edit one photo at a time? Or work on multiple photos at once?

he's doing designs to be printed using a tarpaulin machine.

a true RGB monitor will run atleast 450usd alone.

So i guess he could get away with using about 95-98% of rgb colourspace + basic pc.

Dont forget to buy a basic calibration tool. its essential!

I think he's doing it one at a time but it's better to get a system that can be capable to do more than one.

Then i wish you the best. its really hard to find a monitor under 300 that even properly does 100% sRGB.

The LG Ultrawide is surprisingly the cheapest. good big screen for working too. can have side by is side workflow

But please just invest 100usd extra in buying a calorimeter.

Or try to find some used parts.

Where are you from anyways?

its a colour calibtration tool for the monitor.

If you are doing professional work with colours. it has to be maintained to be accurate.

Monitor colours can change slightly over time. so its a good idea to be able to calibrate it easily back to the right colors.

Check out "Spyder 5 Express"

warning: linus screams in the beginning of the video.
