People should really just stop buying the 6700k lol. But then after the new 6 core comes out which is more expensive than the 5820k and a bit more expensive than the 6700k, people will be like "I got the 6700k because 4 cores is enough and I didn't want to spend extra money." SMH, you should have bought the 5820k when it was $50-70 cheaper than the 6700k.

Current PC: Origin Millennium- i7 5820K @4.0GHz | GTX 980Ti SLI | X99 Deluxe

I still don't know how my 5820k was so cheap... I got it LAST MARCH. I think that they had a lot of supply and little demand, warranting a lower price to up sales. My RAM was only $180 - before Skylake most kits were $240.

I got my 16gb quad channel kit for $100. My 5820k for $300. And my MoBo for $150. Entry into X99 was $550 which is definitely worth it. 6700k is almost $400 alone lol.

It was ~$750 for me because I needed a new PSU and the RAM costed more. But add $285 to that if you include my new motherboard... my old board died and I was taking it out for RMA. My H100i was hooked on to my drive bay and then it slipped off and ripped up the socket. Could still probably sell it for $120 on eBay lmao.

Ouch. I love how X99 doesn't need those stupid mounting brackets though for a lot of coolers like the one I have.

Oh I know... those backplates look like hell (I've only ever used LGA-2011)

Before I had LGA 2011, I had AM3+. One of the brackets was so poorly designed it relied on an adhesive to attach to the mobo. This teared off some of the circuitry when I tried to remove the backplate lol. I think I'm sticking with the enthusiast series from now one.
