Max like 800, I am just kinda going as low as I can with an acceptable 1080p experience

For Windows I might but I want to make sure I buy legit, and for the PSU I'm planning on upgrading and why not go big or go home haha, for storage that is subject to change thats why I wanted some second opinions

Why in the world would you pair a lower end Athlon with a GTX 960??

dont need toooooo good of a processor for stuff I plan to do, but need a beefy g card so thats how it turned out

Psst, the 860K is not a "quad core".

um yeah it is its literally in the name AMD Athlon 860k Black Edition QuadCore CPU

a good cpu and ssd can go a very long way..

960 vs 380. probably the 380..

You can ofcourse go down to cheaper cpu and bump up the gpu, but you will get very similar performance.

lol, ok.  The 860K has four cores like the FX 8320 has eight cores.  You have been warned.  Don't try to sue AMD or anything after you buy it.  I have a screen shot of this page.

if you want proper advice please listen. We are talking the cold hard truth here, no marketing bs.

The architechtures are very different. the 4 Steamroller cores in that 860k is no where near comparable to even a dual core haswell.

just like how the 8320/8350 8 core, performs similar to a 4 core haswell in games. In video rendering and other stuff maybe faster.

core count and clock speeds dont mean everything ok..

its only usable when comparing the same core architectures. steamroller vs steamroller. kaveri vs kaveri. haswell vs haswell. ect2..

The i3 dual core has 2 threads per core, and games leveraging on that will see gains. To be safe get a solid 4 cores. most games wont need more than 4, aside from cities skylines, total war, and those types.

The 860K has two modules.  Each module with two cores.  Each module runs 100% independent of the another, but each core in a module does not run 100% independent from it's pairing.

It is not a completely bad choice in a budget system, but the massive IPC advantage of the dual core i3, plus the boost you have from Hyperthreading make the i3 a better choice most of the time.

If you want four cores, save up for an i5.
