Q: Rewrite the equation in slope-intercept form

     1. 2y + 10 = 6x +12    2. 5x + y = 7x + 4

 

could I get examples of these 2? dont worry i not cheating I just made up equations like the one in my workbook

Move" y1 to the other side by adding its opposite to both sides of the equation and simplify

Also neither of those are correct.

As others have posted, you want your equation in the form of

y = mx + b

where m is the gradient, and b is the y-intercept.

 

For 1, we have: 2y + 10 = 6x + 12.

 

We need to take the 10 over to the right hand side. How do we do this? Simply subtract 10 from each side, leaving us with

2y = 6x + 2

Now we're close, but we have a scale of 2 on our y. We want a scale of 1, how do we do this? Divide each side by 2, leaving us with the answer:

1.y = 3x + 1

Do the same for the other equation and you should get

2.y = 2x + 4

i learned that when i was in 7th grade! i suck a lot at math...i just use calculator. Hell where am i suppose to put all these 'math' in my brain when there's trigonometry and calculus in 9th grades right now..

 

don't worry if you can't do this math,it's useless anyway. the only thing it use for is for exams. i doubt adult lyfe don't use this.
