Monoprice Mic Quality.....

I need to get a new large condenser Mic and I really like Monoprice and they had this mic.

 http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=115&cp_id=11502&cs_id=1150201&p_id=600800&seq=1&format=2

Does it perform well?

Follow Up.... Can I use an XLR to 3.5mm adapter and work the same since the Mic requires 48v

Ive seen it once and it was fine, didnt make me think whats that shit neither did it make me think what is that beautiful microphone.

If you going to plug that 3.5 directly into a pc for example it wont work unless you got some special sound card which has phantom on (most dont unless you got a specialist card).

The Dick of the audio page!

It's technically possible to get phantom power over a 3.5mm connector, but 3.5mm was never intended for phantom power, so I don't recommend it. It's easy to damage your microphone if phantom power is on while you plug or unplug the connector.  If you want to use 3.5mm, you might want to look into the ART Tube MP preamp/48v phantom power supply: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/TubeMP

The Monoprice Large-diaphragm condenser is basically a rebrand of the MXL 770. It isn't that well-regarded and I would recommend the V67g in its place at that price point for an XLR condenser microphone: http://www.amazon.com/MXL-Large-Capsule-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B000JRPYGE
