Gigabyte's cooling might be better, but the price is slightly higher

I like the G1 but I'm also bias due to having an awesome G1 series 970, so it depends the G1 will likely get higher clocks due to it's cooling (but not a huge difference) while EVGA is a good company ( customer service and quality wise) and is cheaper by 5% so it depends on what you value.

Both are great cards.

 

I would go EVGA when it's b/w EVGA and Gigabyte. Especially for their excellent Customer Support.

 

Also G1 happens to be good in OCing.

Gigabyte. Better cooler, looks and you won't need the support most likely, they don't make crap (seems kinda like EVGA do, cuz everyone's talking about their customer support :D Shots fired.)
