Hi,

I am planning on making a pc to play games on nvidia surround. Not any high or amazing quality, but just able to play games on surround with medium to ok quality. I am planning on scrapping the CPU, HDD, and ram from my current pc.

Here are the parts i want (and have) for the build

931gb Seagate st1000dm003 (sata)

Intel core i7 4790 @3.60ghz, haswell 22nm tech

16.0gb Dual-channel DDR3 ram@798mhz

Asrock z97 LGA motherboard:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157501&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-TechSource-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=7899552&SID=

$89.99 (after rebate and current sale)

Hxi7501 corsair PSU (750 watt): http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hxi-series-hx750i-high-performance-atx-power-supply-750-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-psu

$179.99

Asus gtx 970: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121899&nm_mc=OTC-Iceleads&cm_mmc=OTC-Iceleads-_-ASUS-_-Video+Card+-+Nvidia-_-14121899

$349.99 (I think)

Nzxt source 210 Mid tower case (black):http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146075&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-TechSource-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=7899552&SID=

$39.99

Please tell me if these parts will work. After this I will probably have $1,000 usd in my bank account. Side note should I get a case with a side window? Thanks for helping me out! It means alot!

Also, should i get an SSD aswell?

looking good:) maybe you might want to get a cooler looking case, but thats not necessary by any means. I seriously recommend a window, but I hate the acrylic windows. Phantex just announced a new Enthoo Evolv with a tempered glass window.. maybe wait for that? thats what i'm doing:) then you can save more money anyway.

I'd say budget for a 120 or 240GB SSD. its honestly SOO much better.

AMD has a surround just like Nvidia. The monitors if you don't have them should set you back about say 600 USD. Make sure 1080p, ips, 60hz (use pcpartpicker.com)

You don't need a Z97 motherboard for a locked chip, the PSU is overkill, and get a 390 instead of a 970. I base the SSD on how patient you are with your computer booting up.

eh. PSU allows for upgradability if he wants in the future, but if you're not get something with less wattage. You could also wait till just a little later in the year and the new graphics cards will release, but honestly preformance increase between an R9 390 and a GTX 970 is marginal. its really what power you're willing to use (or brand loyalty, AMD could use some love)

You can easily play demanding titles at Ultra 1080p with a 390.

I'm considering getting a windowed case, I'm just kind of worried that the build might look mediocre or something. Is this case good? It looks great http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I6BJATW/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00I6BJATW&linkCode=as2&tag=techs096-20&linkId=DEL37WUDW4E2HVQI

It's from June, and is part of the newest family of AMD cards.

Sweet! I looked at the website and it looks really nice, also it looks like it can handle surround or eyefinity no problem. Would it be hard to get all the drivers on my hdd im going to transfer when it already has nvdia drivers?

Just uninstall the Nvidia drivers first, and you should be fine.

Oops, just assumed you were running 1. You won't be getting max settings with the 390 (You'd need a 980 Ti), but they should run at medium.

would converter cables slow down the fps or performance?

As long as you aren't converting to DVI or VGA.

With this PC now im thinking of getting the nzxt s340. Is it hard to color coordinate parts while still making sure they are compatible. I'm thinking of making a blue themed PC. Also does the NZXt s340 have space behind the motherboard for cable management?

Reject Aesthetics, Otherwise just look at 4k benchmarks for the 390 and add like 25% I guess, should be about right for 3 1080p surround, but the 390 should be fairly capable, AMD cards in general tend to do better at higher resolutions probably in part due to more memory bandwidth.

I'm kind of confused on what you said, reject the color coordination and focus more on good functioning parts? is that what your trying to say?
