Reset both phones and make sure they only sign in using their own accounts. Your friend has probably signed into his mothers account to download apps she's bought and vice versa. If they would like to share apps then they can use Apple family sharing.

My friends mom gets his face times and my friend gets his mom's text. How can I fix this? Thanks guys.
