Hello, I got a budget of 200 USD on Amazon (soft cap) and I'm looking at getting a nice pair of headphones. I'm using my desktop's onboard sound card (ALC1150 on  ASRock Z97 Extreme4). I'm looking for a circumaural pair with good noise isolation. I prefer a more balanced range, although if I had to choose between the highs and lows, I'd rather lose the highs (not a lot preferably). I generally listen to JPop, JRock, Pop, and Rock, e.g. fripSide, MyChemicalRomance, and Walk the Moon.

My old headphones are Audio-Technica ATH-M30's and I liked how they sound with a slight addition of bass (1 dB decrease in the mids and highs). I was looking at the higher level ATH-M50x's, but that's mostly due to their popularity. As such, I was hoping to have some more recommendations since I don't know of any other good pair in this price range. Thanks!

Ouch, if you can return them still I would.. If you haven't got then yet back out and get the M40x or DT 770 for a little more money.

I decided on getting the ATH-M50x's. Sorry SuicideAnomaly, but I'll trust chowdog13

It's all good. I just don't think they live up to all their hype. :)

There are a couple closed back pairs of cans I use regularly, but they are above your budget so I didn't bother recommending them.

Really recommend the M50x's, been using them for over a year now and have no complaints. I really like the neutral sound and its pretty decent at isolation, keeping music in and ambient sound out. Very comfortable and can't beat that price!
