So, in short, I've forgotten how to make friends and socialize with people i don't know

Long story.

As of the start of July 2015, I've left secondary school(which i believe is the equivalent to high school) to move onto Tertiary education at the start of September 2015. All of my friends have moved to different schools so i was basically a fish out of water, i had to make new friends. I believe within those two months, I've forgotten how to talk to people i don't know.

I managed to make a friend(yes, A) since then and i believe the rest of people i know was low acquaintances. It's a new semester I'm in and I've decided to seek help to start afresh.

I came to the realization recently that i don't know how to maintain conversations for long and what to discuss.

Thanks for reading this and possibly a solution to this dilemma.

I think almost all techies have that problem that they don't have anything to talk about and that they talk less with other people. I learned myself to listen as much as possible and to try and join the conversation.

So find something else in common, be open minded. you don't have to be labeled as the guy who just likes this and is otherwise boring as fuck.

This is also good advice. accept people for who they are and hope they do the same

Where I live no-one is a techie seriously no-one I don't have anyone to talk about it. Everyone knows I know a lot about tech and they accept that and sometimes people ask me stuff if they have a problem. But don't try to talk with non-techies about tech that's how they start to not liking you because they think you are weird.

When they talk about football (soccer) I just stand with them and say nothing. It's not weird to say nothing and what do you mean with obtrusive?

What do people talk about in your class/school?

The last part does be a blur as it have so much conversations going on you cant pinpoint what they are talking about

By obtrusive i meant intrusive. I was trying to figure the word out. I dont want to cause inconvenience to anyone
