I have the 558's which are very similar and a massive skull and have no issues with comfort.

For reference, 3D glasses from the movies hurt (hoping the glasses are somewhat similar globally)

They were comfortable enough for me since my glasses would rest above the earpads. The earpads themselves are alright. They are made from a lower quality velour material compared to other earpads such as those found on Beyerdynamic's DT series or the HD 558/598 and they are fairly stiff just as you have heard. It has a firm grip that is not overly tight. Still probably one of the more comfortable headphones in its price range though.

I own the 518, they are very comfortable, the padding is soft and the fabric has enough ventilation that you don't sweat, because they are large the pressure on your head is minimal, and yet they don't slide too easily when you move your head.

Mystery is the source of all true science.
