... It's a great PSU...

850W is recommended for two 980tis in SLI so one is more than enough. 650W for the EVGA G2/GS/GQ would be a better way to spend your money unless you plan to throw another in later.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Faster once in the OS, but PCIe boot devices take a while to initialize over SATA III boot devices. It'll take longer to boot despite the speed.

I know this from experience (I own the 512GB model).

Also, SeaSonic (the OEM for XFX PSU' s) are the most reliable power supplies you can buy.

Yes I'm going to sli in the future

OK then 850W is good. If any of the aforementioned EVGA options are cheaper then go for one of them.

Does it need to be Platinum rated?

That XFX unit I suggested is made by SeaSonic and it's as reliable as they come.

Any particular reason you want to spend the 70 USD delta for an 80+ rating up?

the corsair h105 doesn't have corsair link to monitor the pump and fans, however it is 8mm thicker than the h100 and I don't know what to choose

what do u mean by delta

Cost difference. It's not worth seventy dollars for a slightly higher 80+ rating. 80+ ratings and wattage do not affect performance.

Corsair Link is terrible. Trust me, you don't want it. You can us BIOS to control fans and monitor the pump.

Nope. That's how you'll be overclocking anyway. It's simple. Just click around in BIOS for a while to familiarize yourself with everything. If you have any questions, just ask us; we're always here to help!  :D
