Best Low-end GPU

Go to solution Solved by Jacktastic-Mofo,

You can get a Zotac GTX 750ti for 104 on Amazon, however if he's just watching HD video than a R7 240 / R7 250 would do.

Whats the best low-end gpu for around 50-100 USD

Im building a PC for a friend and he isn't a gamer but wants to watch HD movies and videos.

I don't know much about low-end GPUS so any knowledge is appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Why would he need to spend  extra money on a GPU, he's just watching movies, integrated graphics is just fine

Honestly, any recent iGPU with access to dual-channel memory can drive 4K 30fps video, so... I mean, even my Cherry-trail-based Atom tablet can play HD videos without a fuss.

Although, if your friend wanted to play games, there are a few options - a Radeon 7770 goes for around $55 at the moment. Some dude saw a 7950 for $110, and a 7970 goes for anywhere between $150-170. You can get massive amounts of performance for not a lot of money.

But this is for a little home theater entertainment PC. You don't need a load of GPU horsepower.

stick with an integrated gpu, if you want a little more unf, get an APU, I have a Sempron 3850 and that handles 1080p video fine
