Getting a GTX 970

 

I5 4460

8GB 1866Mhz RAM

 

Have a CX500, will it support my system for around 4 weeks till I upgrade the PSU?

Also I can't find any real info on CX's buring out? Can someone link?

Yes, it will run it fine till you upgrade.

i have a friend thats running a 960 off a FireStarterPower group inc. thats like... 400 watts i think until he has the cash to upgrade.

 

defenately not a recommended long term solution tho.

CX's are bad PSus, but they aren't as bad as a lot of people make them out to be. They won't blow up or aynthing, it's just that it would be less relible and won't last as long and may not deliver as much power or whatever.
